The Israel Trip

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Rick Perry | Posted on 31-10-2009

I would love to think the Israel trip was for a good reason, but watch this video then tell me if you think Texans are getting jobs from this tell me where the Israel based company is hiring in Texas, I have plenty of family that need work.

The Link is HERE. It is a good report using what “Freedom of Information Act” they could. Transparency is good for Texans, it allows us to see what is really costing us in real money.

Another Perry reaction

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Texas Governor | Posted on 28-10-2009

Perry campaigns heavy handed. The pyramid scheme where you earn money for signing up people. The TABC head guy is sending out campaign letters and without even skipping a beat Perry has no problems with it.

Words cannot say how far out of touch Perry has become, perhaps his bubble is just too protective. All I can say is nothing I have seen in this election will move me to vote for him.

Help Me

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Rick Perry | Posted on 27-10-2009

I have a problem, my name is Kathy I hope you can help me. I live in a county with an over 10% unemployment rate. I know the government is out there, they keep taxing me. Right now my Hubby has a job, but very soon he may be layed off. I have a Governor that is out of state telling everyone how great the state is. Yet he hasn’t been to this county in years and I live only an hour away.

Every Urban Republican keeps saying I am expecting too much from the governor, that I am I wrong. They tell me my state and my Governor is the best ever. I should be glad he is in New York, at NASDAQ and fancy fundraiser dinners. He is working for me they tell me. Yet I see people unable to find work, unable to pay the mortgage bills, and utility bills.

Do I live in a state like Michigan or do I live in Texas? Sadly I live in Texas. It is not the Texas I know, I have never lived in Texas when the unemployment rate is 10% and the Governor running for re-election doesn’t see the need to come by. I live in a county where many are looking for work, where many are trying to work. But their mortgage is here, not in San Antonio. They could not sell their house if they wanted to, who would buy it in a 10% unemployment rate?

Rick Perry showing off in New York City doesn’t impress me at all. He needs to speak to Texans Out of Work, if he can’t find any in Texas he is running from them. We have a twenty two year high of employment and that was last month. It is higher now than in September. Many are scheduled to go off in October, Congressman Carter seems to know that and he works in DC. Perry has put his head in the sand, and sadly anyone telling me he is perfect need to talk to the unemployed unable to find work. Texans want to work, but are unable to find work.

Look at all the places he could go to find the Unemployed. Look HERE.

Irony Arson Style

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Rick Perry | Posted on 20-10-2009

This caught my eye. As I have said before I will never know if Willingham was guilty or not. Perry has made sure that any questions will not be answered for a long time if never. Justice is supposed to blind and impartial.

Micro-Managing

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 18-10-2009

My belief is the USA and Texas work just fine if people do their jobs. You appoint the best, and pray it works out. GHW Bush found out some appointments don’t pan out the way you would love with David Souter.

Whether you respect him or not the best way for a person in power is to let some things go. Perry seems unable to let anything go, if I thought before he was that way recently his actions have just confirmed what my grassroots heart believe, power is what he loves most.

Regardless of the outcome, Perry will not release papers around an execution that was under investigation. What I hate worse than a murderer going free is a innocent man being convicted. I along with the rest of Texas will never know the truth, and that is a deep concern for me.

Open records is our best bet to protect the tax payer and voter. How are we supposed to know why or whom is influencing whom without open records?

Perry doesn’t want us to know, and that regardless if he dropped the ball or not is a character flaw. Let it be, is not bad advice when it comes to appointments to top universities in Texas. Perry is so power hungry he will not even fathom what I am suggesting. Let it Be.

Here is a Great Link about Perry’s need to control all of Texas Government. look HERE.

Is TTC Dead?

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Texas Governor, TxDOT | Posted on 16-10-2009

I highly doubt it. Matter of fact I think like many others Perry has made other plans of how to do TTC. Remember he only won with 39% the last race, during that one he wouldn’t back down. He then just last year made sure Ted Houghton stay on board of TxDOT.

There are ways to make Texans think TTC is dead but not be dead. I think he is doing sections at a time, so that all of Texas cannot band together. Remember I 69 is being done by Cintra Zachry, as well as completed toll roads built by Cintra Zachry.

I like many others will not believe TTC is dead until Perry is no longer our Governor and TxDOT is gutted and filleted. Cronyism is alive and well in Texas and especially in TxDOT. Now I am sure I will be painted as a moderate or an extremist who just cannot trust reality. But remember how many times I have been told it is dead only to find Rick Perry found a way to revive it.

He is a conniving man at best, at worst I cannot say what I think of him.

He is not who he seems to be, considering how many times he has said he is pro eminent domain, until it means he wants to use it. I don’t trust him any farther than I can throw him.

Here is a clip that explains the continuing questions about TTC.

60 Million

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in TxDOT | Posted on 08-10-2009

At first glance $60 million is the number TxDOT spent on TTC. Texas tax dollars spent from day one were being protested. But the number is deceptive, $60 Million was only the part of the TTC that was killed. $131 Million is what TxDOT has spent thus far, and remember none of that money has actually built a road. None has expanded I35 or maintained the existing roads.

Until Perry is out of office, TxDOT is cleaned from Top to near bottom nobody should rest assured that TTC will not grow an ugly dragon out of it. TxDOT is filled with inept people at the top, I happen to know many employed by TxDOT on a low level. They do their job, and leave the politics behind. But the Commissioners are beyond hope, they need to be fired. Perry needs to be fired.

Nope the announcement has not calmed my fears about the need to “Make Texas History” by Perry. Rick Perry has had years and millions to back off, but he hasn’t. Even when the State House and Senate voted to kill TTC, Perry kept funding it.

Hank Gilbert had the quote of the day for me on TTC.

“Vampires die quicker than Rick Perry’s transportation policy,” he said.

TTC has been like a D list actor finally scoring a death scene, every which way, every moment.

Remember that TxDot has not killed all of TTC, only the big portion of it on I35. I69 will be built by Cintra Zachry.

Details of the money are found HERE.

This is one of the reasons I am supporting Kay Bailey Hutchison for Governor.

Endorsements

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Texas Governor | Posted on 06-10-2009

When Perry began getting endorsements I thought nothing of it. Then once the Texas Home Schooling Coalition chimed in I noticed. For a few reasons in particular I knew Debra Medina was a home schooling mom, and I also knew many homeschooling moms were totally against the HPV mandate Perry had signed as a executive order. That being said Tim Lambert said in his blog that the members voted to endorse Perry, members of his PAC not just any Texas homeschoolers. Then Cathie Adams endorsed Perry while I know Cathie fought the TTC as an eminent domain issue.

I consider them both sold out. It is something that not sit well with me, but you decide what you believe and you either stick it out or not. I am not changing who I am. Rick Perry is the first governor to do a business tax in Texas, the first to use eminent domain for a toll road while selling the profits for fifty years to a foreign company. He is also the first to sign an order to mandate 11 yr old females in Texas being vaccinated with a vaccine that proved not to be the safest for a STD.

Yes, I am pro-life, but I consider pro-life a life long journey. If you are not protecting those Texans already here to spout to me you protect the unborn. There are many examples of Perry not protecting those lives already here. I am not a one issue Republican, I believe in many issues.

Agriculture is King in our house, it is at the core of everything we do. We buy our clothes around what will work at the farm, sunscreen, hats, boots, trucks you name it they all have to be ag proof. Rick Perry sold the agriculture community out when he started TTC, not to mention having a vegetarian at the head of his beef area in Agriculture. Hubby has been a member of Farm Bureau for decades, Perry didn’t think it was nothing when he had their endorsement as Ag commissioner. Perry had promised to protect eminent domain over and over only to try to erode property rights. Now Perry’s campaign is calling Farm Bureau only an “insurance company”.

The Farm Bureau pac is AGFUND, that is who endorsed Hutchison. Simple reason, they know Perry is not for eminent domain, and without it no land owner can trust Perry.

Just as all homeschoolers will not support Perry, not all Farm Bureau members will support Hutchinson. Many Farm Bureau members live in towns, and don’t own land. Trust me the men that own hundreds or thousands of acres Perry is not at the top of the ticket. It is about land, not insurance.

How you react to endorsements is telling. Kay and Debra rarely even mention the endorsements they don’t have. They just keep campaigning. I tend to respect those that think the issues at the heart of the endorsement is more important than a stamp on a candidate.

12,000

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Rick Perry, Texas Governor | Posted on 05-10-2009

That is the number of Texans that will lose unemployment benefits by the middle of October. 12,000 are still trying to find work in Texas, otherwise they would not be on unemployment. There are many more companies in Texas that hunkered down, but soon they will have to bite the bullet and lay off more workers.

By the end of the year 55,000 will hit the end of benefits. In Texas you can talk to all the rubber chicken dinners you want to, wear fancy tailored suits but if you don’t actually do something about Texans losing jobs you are worthless to this Texan.

What irks me is how many times Perry has toured the world while Texans are struggling to keep what jobs they have. If he spent a fraction of time on jobs in Texas vs building his resume I would feel differently. Remember the unemployed vote heavily.

This quote of Texas being recession proof haunts me, where is this guy living? Oh yeah in a house our taxes pay for!

Did I mention I am supporting Kay Bailey Hutchison? Well now you know why!

Justice in Question

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Texas Governor | Posted on 04-10-2009

This post I never hoped to post. It was a post I had hoping Perry would allow something to be looked out, fixed and allow the horrific truths to come out or not.

If only that had happened, if only Perry had done what he has done in countless of other situations, reappoint the existing people and let it go. God knows Perry has done it many times with people that should be fired.

What am I talking about? A man was executed by the state of Texas, but forensic evidence says it may or may not have been a mistake. The New York Times has covered it, every major paper has covered it. Until Perry made the replacement of the people that had started the investigation and found some problems in it, I had hoped one time Perry would ignore the “heavy handed politics” and let something work through the system.

I don’t know the specifics, or let me say I am not going to look into them. Frankly right now all I can do is bring it up and pray. I don’t know enough to rattle off anything other than look at this.

HERE.

Here is the Wall Street Journal article Look HERE.

I do feel like Bradley was put between a rock and hard place, I don’t know him at all but I would hope he would look into this. But Bradley took the appointment knowing the pressure of this execution.

That and the fact many very conservative people have valid reasons for not supporting Perry. I consider myself very hard on crime, but I also strongly believe in the appeal system when it works.
