The Real Perry

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Rick Perry, Texas Governor | Posted on 17-09-2009

I truly wish the real Rick Perry would show up. First he buys the domain WashingtonKay, then he buys PleaseStayKay. Then he reams her for even wanting to run for Governor while she is a Senator on a Senate Break. Then he gets his Hired Goons to taunt her about her record in Washington.

Here is what I don’t understand.

  • Perry could appoint someone like Michael Williams in Kay’s place
  • Perry has been Governor traveling the world on our dime for almost ten years but Kay has been in the Senate too long
  • Perry went to DC to raise Money, he has no problem taking money from NY and DC when it comes to campaign money
  • Perry has no problems taking TARP money
  • Perry has no problems asking for TARP money
  • Oh but Perry said Washington DC is a bad place (now send me a check)
  • Perry said he was for secession before he was against it.
  • Perry is against an actual fence on the border, but he will use cameras bought from Rep lawmakers, and send the Texas Rangers the next time he is campaigning.
  • He has hired goons but me a grassroots blogger, former supporter to say I am a not a conservative.
  • Perry says he is strictly pro-life, but campaigns, endorsing and roams with Rudy strictly pro-choice
  • Perry says Kay being pro-choice is a bad thing, but he could appoint Michael Williams a true pro-lifer if Kay is so bad for Texas.
  • Kay is so bad for Texas in Texas that we want her in DC? Well that is the message I am hearing from Perry.

At some point you have to take a stand on what you believe 365 days of the year, which from where I stand is nothing but Perry thinks he should be the Governor of Texas for life.

Anything and everything that will get him to be Governor he is willing to do, never mind what it costs Texas Republicans or Texas.

Ronald Reagan Conservative

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Texas Governor | Posted on 16-09-2009

Reagan was one of the best presidents for America. What he was unapologetic for being a conservative.  He was pro-life, he was pro-family even though his family was a mixed one. He was pro-gun, one of the biggest NRA supporters you could have even after he was shot. He also believed the tax burden was a heavy one, pro-fiscal conservative was definitely his penchant. I know because I married a Reagan backer in 1988. You knew who Reagan was, he was not loved by the yellow dogs, but many independent conservatives supported him.

Businesses thrived under Reagan, especially small businesses like our farm. We did not worry about gun registration, high taxes or something to rain on our parade. During this time Perry was a democrat, he was no conservative in any way.

So this video of what Guiliani of Bracewell Guiliani is particularly funny to me. Guiliani is and was Anti-gun, anti-prolife and a strong supporter of illegals.

Did I mention Rudy is campaiging for Perry on Texas’s dime? Oh well Perry is traveling town to town signing bills with Rudy looking on while it is called Texas Govt. The checks will go into the Rick Perry campaign fund, though. And don’t ask Perry about Rudy’s take on issues, he won’t discuss it!

Look HERE.

You can grandstand, you can collect money from whoever you want to.
But the distortion of who Perry is not lost on me.

His support of ACORN along with a picture has been changed. The story is HERE. The picture of his signing of the Bill is HERE.

He is no conservative, he is nothing more than a career politician out for his own gain at the cost of Texans.

Perry Positions

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Rick Perry, Texas Governor | Posted on 15-09-2009

Dirty Money from DC

Personally I don’t think the money from DC is dirty. But if you have listened to Rick Perry would think it is, until yesterday.

While Perry has been telling her to go back to DC, he has been planning a DC fundraiser. Much of his longterm funds have left his account to go into Kay’s account. Perry takes much of his funds from out of state, but from his ads you would never know that.

I am giving the typical conservative a gift. A gift that you will use over and over. Hubby and I have been fascinated by it, who donated what to whom.

You can look up anyone on there, and I encourage you to do so. What I have figured out in this journey of actual facts is there is few and far between hard facts to look at when you talk about any candidate that doesn’t have a spin on it. All the records are from 2008, 2009 have not been released on any website yet.

Here you go it is called Project Vote Smart. No spin, just the facts mam!

Look HERE for the amount of money Perry took over the years.

Look HERE for his answers to an Issues Text, he refused to answer or turn it in.

Look HERE for his voting record, there is none on abortion. He did not sponsor or cosponsor any bill on abortion.

Look HERE for Perry Vetos.

You can say over and over what a conservative Perry is, I have yet to find any actual documents that say he is. If you know exactly where they are please post them for me to look at. No Spin, no rumor, no assumed positions are allowed. I deal in hard, bold truths.

Records and Trust

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Rick Perry, Texas Governor, TxDOT | Posted on 02-09-2009

While Perry’s Hired Goons and Perry continue to float what they want to out about Rick Perry I do what I do best.

I do research, I don’t take anyone’s word for anything. I can’t. See I met with a Rick Perry staffer for four hours about TTC on day. Not once did he say anything about all the money Cintra Zachry had given Perry. Not once did he admit the real dimensions of the TTC.It was a group much like the Tea Party that found out exactly how many misrepresentations were out there about the TTC. What is absolutely clear is TxDOT financial records are not open, are not easy to figure out and Perry is happy about that. They had to file numerous freedom of information acts to get the financial information. They also had to hire lawyers. Here is the hearing, no one including Perry wanted voters to know what was actually in contract for TxDOT and TTC. Watch it HERE.

I-183 in Austin has been paid for, my brother help build it. He has moved on but not the tolls. Toll roads are supposed to be tolled until they are paid for. Remember Perry handpicked Dierdre Delisi to run TxDOT.

Now to the Pro life issue. My contention has been and will forever be that this is the same governor willing to rob local counties and cities for foreign profits. This is the same governor that wanted HPV Vaccine Mandates for 11 yr old girls in Texas.

This is the same governor that traveled the world, while kids in TYC were being beaten and abused.

These Texans all deserve to be treated with respect, they are after all humans. Kay is pro-choice, believe me when I tell you I was disappointed in that fact. Ask her staff they will tell you we had a very long discussion about that issue.

Perry may or may not be pro-life. See Perry is an excellent campaigner. He could have backed any prolife candidate for President but he backed Rudy.

His record includes One Vote that is prolife, oh yes TAL has endorsed him. My guess is there after the secret meeting TAL got a big check. Nope given Perry’s history tells me it is a possibility.

My point is I take Perry for what he is a slick politician that will do anything to win and in that he will say and do anything to get there. He will say secede but then change his wording the next day, ignore those wanting secession. He will say he is for Rudy only to say he is for McCain, only to say he is for Palin. He knows where his bread is buttered.

For the sake of future children in Texas I hope he keeps his prolife promise if he does it will be one of few.

Texas needs choices, real choices in government. Perry is no choice, the independents and democrats know who Perry is, which is why he only won by 39% and Kay won by 60%. Republicans cannot keep the offices we currently have if we back someone with this record.

If you look at records you don’t trust Perry, and that was before the Goons attacked me . The fact the attacks come on me a real grassroots pro-life record volunteer that helped Perry in the past tells me Perry has no respect for the truth. My blog is only based on truth, I could post rumors but I have chosen to post realities, not rumors.

Living in Luxury

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Rick Perry, Texas Governor | Posted on 01-09-2009

It is no surprise to me that Perry’s Hired Goons have continued to attack me. See what I know and the Goons know is Perry doesn’t want to answer real questions not about real Texas issues. He wants to attack Kay supporters. And for the most part the Republican Party wants me to “shut up” as well. Problem is I love Texas more than the Republican Party, I love Texas for what she was. A state where you knew there would never be a state tax, a place where Governors were not Kings but governed, a place where you could roam and look out over thousands of acres of land. Rick Perry doesn’t want that Texas. He is not that Governor.

He is a Governor willing to truck in pigs to a Kay Bailey Hutchison rally. In Texas and all other 49 states Governors are elected not ordained.

I don’t drink the Perry Koolaid any more than I drank the Obama Koolaid.

I am big enough to try to hit, and guess what you still cannot buy my blog. Much as you would love to, I don’t take money from non conservatives.

Don’t you wish you had a personal staff? You could travel the world and not pay for it? Boy Hubby and I would enjoy the personal chef, matter of fact Laura Bush once said it was the thing she missed most about leaving public office.

Well I guess Perry and Mrs. Perry want more travel, food and personal attention. Here is a list of stuff that the Perrys get by being Governor and the First Lady of Texas.

Let’s start with what unusual trips and perks Perry has taken like to say Istanbul. Look HERE.

There is a big donor list you can download, but it takes a while. So I am sticking to the big numbers, the things that most Texans don’t know about.

Here is the list of all the travel and extras paid to Rick Perry. Look HERE.

Here is the list of gifts given to Perry and his family. Look HERE.

Here is the list of what Texans pay for, along with the links I have already included. So the highlights are: 108,000 for rent while the mansion is repaired again. $168,000 on personal chefs, stewards and housekeeping.  Look HERE for her details.

I am sick of luxury when Texans are out of work, electricity is through the roof. I just think cutting back would not hurt anyone including politicians. But when it comes to Perry I highly doubt it. There are tens of thousands of Texas out of work, with no jobs in site. This is one reason I am supporting a change in Governor.

We need someone that will at least go to events in Texas, you don’t need to go to California to attend an Aggie Muster. I have one a few miles from me in the middle of nowhere.

A good friend told me that when I say my dogs could run Texas better that is not a great statement. Well look at this list and think about Pancho and Lefty. Both are born Texans, you will rarely see them leave the county. Buy them some Sam’s dog food and they are happy. Especially if you give a bit of chicken and ice cream every once in awhile. They are not spenders, granted with Lefty Austin would have less squirrels, hunting squirrels is a new passion. But Pancho and Lefty have no interest in 12 billion in stimulus money, or vetoing bills elected Texans voted for. I stand behind Pancho and Lefty!

Since they are not running for Governor I am backing Kay Bailey Hutchison, she is the next best thing to Pancho and Lefty. While Kay may not think that is a compliment, if she knew how much I adore them she would know it is a honor to be compared to them.

Perry Donors

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Rick Perry, Texas Governor, TxDOT | Posted on 25-08-2009

Here we go, I am going there. I am willing to get my hands dirty. I am willing to say what most Texans need to hear.

Texas education is in the toilet. Yep flush it down and let her rip. College Remedial Math is a standard class in all Texas colleges. Remedial Math is accepted because they cannot teach real College Algebra to kids that cannot  pass it. Oh there are kids that can do College Algebra, but they either go to private schools, have private tutors, or in a very exclusive school. The average freshman bound Texas kid couldn’t do College Algebra if you paid him to. The reason is simple, while Texas has TAKS, it only tests Math on certain grade levels. TAKS is a joke, you pass the test and still not be able to excel at Math. The teachers, the parents and the kids all know this.

Everyone wishes that Texas could have real Math taught, but nothing happens. It won’t until Perry as a Governor of almost nine years decides it is important. Our kids, our workforce, our colleges and parents are suffering as Perry plays at being Governor. He is obsessed with transportation, but not with education.

Perry talks education but why would the donor numbers from Brazos County be so high for Kay Bailey Hutchison. In a very simple statement many Aggies are embarrassed by Perry. He has let Texas A & M go down like a flaming fire. His appointments have been disastrous, his meddling has only caused less success.

Twenty Six former Donors to Rick Perry have switched. Here is the article. Some donors to Kay are life long Texans, that would rather go down on the side of what is best for Texas than who can sling the most mud.

They know what I know Perry is killing Texas slowly bit by bit. First a Business Tax, then TTC, then attempted Mandated HPV Vaccine. If the elected Texas House and Senate could pass what the people wanted instead of what Perry wants, we would have great things happen in Texas. But right now you have them doing the best for Texas which Perry has decided is not his responsibility.

Cintra-Zachry Money Trail

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Rick Perry, Texas Governor, TxDOT | Posted on 20-08-2009

What are the odds? I deal with a realistic view of things. I am not complicated, I am not a person that likes to deal with “things are not as they appear.”

I think most people are like that, and if not what why the heck not? In our school district there were three not two or one but three schools built by the same construction company. I do believe we are unusual in that fact, you rarely see one company out bidding three bids. Many wonder, few have questioned but me I think if it looks like duck, walks like a duck and talks like a duck it is a duck.

I should say that the old superintendents are gone, but the buildings we are left with are shells compared to what we had. School Tax dollars will continue to pour in for the inefficiencies we bought in the past.

My point is a simple one, how can so many contracts go to one company?

Unless just maybe there is something else going on the average voter doesn’t know about. Why would a state give toll money to a business when we are dealing with illegals pouring over the border? My guess is simple, money. Not money for Texas mind you, money for Perry.

I know you want facts. Thankfully many have done my work for me. But I do love to share useful information!

First up 2006 TxDot sells a stretch of highway to Cintra-Zachry for 50 years, including the tolls. Here is the LINK look HERE.

Next the amount of contributions Perry has gained over the years from conractors that happen to be listed in plans for TTC. The Link is HERE. Look on page 4 for NUMBERS GRAPH.

Well that listing of money ending in 2008.

But thankfully someone else has done even more work for 2009.  Name change, idea is still the exact. The new flashy name is innovative Connectivity Texas. Personally I think they changed it so it doesn’t even sound like transportation. Here is the stuff we know in 2009. LOOK HERE.

Too much money is going into pockets and not into Texas. Perry needs to be sent straight the College Station home he thinks he already lives in.

Business is Business

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Texas Governor | Posted on 15-08-2009

As the “record keeper” of the farm I see every cost come in, every check come in and how much we pay in taxes.  Hubby and I had a heated discussion with Sen Steve Ogden one day. The reason being that Texas wanted and did raise taxes on businesses in Texas. Raising taxes is raising taxes. When you raise taxes on one type of business, the other types will follow because as we all know Government is a hungry monster.

What struck Hubby that day was Steve Ogden has no business sense, no background in paying business taxes trying to make a profit while paying the government. It was truly evident, it was totally frustrating as well.

Business is business, and while my frustration with Steve Ogden is not over it does not stop there as far as politicians thinking they know business better than business people.

Which brings me to Deirdre Delisi. If you look up TTC or Rick Perry a name keeps popping up Deirdre Delisi. Now what you don’t know is who the heck she is. To be honest I had a hunch who she was related to but did not know her qualifications. So let’s begin in the beginning. Delisi is married to Ted Delisi, not probably a name you know but I do. Ted Delisi is Dianne White Delisi’s son, maybe you still don’t know who that is. Most Texans have no clue who Dianne White Delisi is. Scott and White is a huge hospital in Temple, Texas started by two men Dr. Scott and Dr. White.  Dianne is a descendent of Dr. White as is Ted. Dianne was a state representative for Bell County when she resigned to go to work for _____Merck , yep the same company that wanted mandatory HPV Vaccines that would have made Merck very rich.

Deirdre Delisi has a famous mother in law, okay I will give her that but what about her qualifications? She chairs Texas Dept of Transportation, surely she is qualified by education or experience to run such a huge Department. She was born in Canada, not even close to Texas. She has a BA degree from Duke University in ______Political Science. She also has a Masters degree from Stanford in International Studies. She started her career as an aid to a state representative, I would think she did a good job. But how did she get to run Texas Dept of Transportation? One word Perry. Perry put her as chief of staff, she rocked and rolled for Perry full time gaining money and power for Perry. Which gets you what? A cushy job running a State Dept that is over the TTC.

Yep and to be honest I remember thinking why would Dianne White Delisi not come out against TTC, but now you know the rest of the story.

Deirdre Delisi is all over the Internet. Here are just a few places I found some information on her. First up Pipi Profile is HERE. Here is her Zoom Profile Link HERE. Here is her Source Watch Profile HERE. Paul Burks writes for Texas Monthly, he is one of the best at in depth reporting. His analysis is HERE. Paul leans left but I love to read his writing, he does his homework.

From where I sit paying Texas Sales taxes for every stinking purchase we buy, she is unqualified for her job. Nothing in her education or experience would make me think she could run Texas Dept of Transportation. What it does show is Perry doesn’t care what the initials of TTC are, he is Hell Bent on taking land from farmers, ranchers and rural people in order to satisfy his thirst for a “Highway to Everywhere”.

If her job was shove any type of TTC down our throats she more than qualifies, but running TxDot and making it work for the betterment of most Texans not a chance.

Rick Perry Fundraising

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Rick Perry, Texas Governor | Posted on 08-08-2009

It takes a lot of money to be elected. Everyone knows it. I respect the politicians that realize that if you are a grassroots mover and shaker it is work a chunk of change. I also am a realist I know there will be fundraiser my checkbook could never afford.

That being said, The Crescent is a absolutely extordinary place for a fundraiser. I would think to hold one fundraiser there would be amazing but Rick Perry is a budget buster in every way. He did two between March and April. Oh he raised milliions, oh he skirted the rules about raising money during, before and after legislation times. Yep Perry has no problem bending rules, like saying TTC was for the people of Texas while his family was going to gain a salary for decades!

This is of course not a slam on The Crescent, it is a beautiful place to go. I am sure they were simply breathtaking hosts to a “invitation only business lunch” that happened to gain money in Perry’s coffers.

This is Perry, he will bully legislators until they cave. He will attempt to control any amendment on the floor of the Texas House and Senate because He is PERRY. His ego is as big as Obama’s, and take it from me I consider that HUGE. He will wine and dine business people on our state ticket and then complain when the House or Senate try to make Texas a better state.

This fund raising detail is documented by Perry’s campaign. Thanks to the Dallas Morning News for actually reporting about it. Here is the LINK.
