Rick Perry Secession

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Texas Governor | Posted on 09-09-2009

What did Rick Perry say about seceding from the USA? It is a bit confusing for most Texans, because what he said is not what you have heard.

Let’s begin at the beginning. The bill was not introduced by Rick Perry. It was the pet project of Brandon Creighton. He had been talking to other states about similar bills enacted in other states. The bill number which is extremely important (been looking for number for an hour) is HCR 50. It is a bipartisan bill because as many Texans know what DC sends down we have to fund. Here is a Link and all the work on the Bill. Look HERE.

The beginning of the youtube video where Brandon Creighton explains the whys and hows have been clipped from every edition I have watched. Make no mistake he and many of his colleagues did the work. See I guess the guys arguing the hows and whys of a bill don’t make Perry look good. That part of the bill signing I found interesting, it was truly a grassroots kind of look at a bill.

Now to the video of the beginning of the Roll of Rick Perry seceding from the USA.

Here is the longest version I can find of Perry signing the bill. This would be 4/9/09

The Next video is Perry at the Tea Party in Austin. His famous speech, the one you will find over and over again. The fact that he even went to a Teap Party I find funny considering how much he has hidden about TTC and other special interests. This would be 4/15/09

This is right after the “speech on camera”. This is Perry answering questions or dodging them depending on your take.

What he meant? No idea, considering he asked for TARP money, took TARP money and has spent TARP money.

It works better when you truly do balance your state budget instead of blaming DC, thumbing your nose then taking DC money.

That is why Perry is a politician and not a cotton farmer, cotton is a cut and dry operation. Politics is a lot of smoke and mirrors.

Perry Toll Highways

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Texas Governor, TxDOT | Posted on 19-08-2009

Rick Perry has not done much the last four years. Unless you talk about him making headlines in the press and traveling the world on our dime.

He seems to be obsessed with creating roads, using of course foreign countries, our tax dollars, and private companies.

Make no mistake I am a native child of Texas. As my mother would often say I 75 was too small by the time it was completed. The highway between Dallas and Ft Worth stayed a tollway long after it was paid for. Texas has not done a great job in long range planning for transportation for a very long time. But if you think Dierdre Delisi is going to do long range planning for the benefit of Texas you would be wrong.

The one thing Perry seems to want is what he wants, no matter what it will do to small towns, the environment or the land. There are high speed rails that operate on small areas next to highways, without a huge cost of purchasing the most land in Texas in the history of the State. That would make sense but that is not what Perry wanted or wants.

TTC or the concept of it is alive and well in the hands of Perry and Delisi, because he can. Perry after all wants to toll roads already paid for!

I have some links for you. So you understand what Perry thinks about Texas transportation.

TTC the History of What Perry Envisioned is HERE.

I 30 Toll Road the Austin area loves. Which I truly understand Austin traffic is awful. Problem is the two companies that TTC wanted to do the work were Cintra and Zachry. Now look at who they hired to do  I30…Cintra and Zachry. Here is an article go down the Texas details. Look HERE.

Yet even another article of what Perry wants to do, what Delisi is doing and yes it is a Toll Road. Look HERE this was July 2009.

Now this is from June 2008, I researched high speed rails that took up less space. Here is the link HERE.

Perry could do some of the things he promised if elected. Work on the borders, fix schools, make higher education great in Texas. But no he is obsessed with TTC or anything like it.

This is why I am gladly supporting Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Austin Green Jobs

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 06-08-2009

Here is the latest on green jobs in Austin, lost to Michigan. It should be noted that Michigan’s unemployment rate is much higher than Texas. But sadly Austin has prided itself with a green focus, and abilities to “land the green jobs.”
