Voter Primer

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Texas History | Posted on 30-10-2009

I was looking at the number of amendments and how many days I have left. I am out of time. What I will say as a conservative our original constitution was written in perfect form. In many ways I have libertarian lean thinking no amendment is a good one. The more you mess with a perfect document the murkier it gets.

That being said I am going to give you a non partisan link for information on the Amendments I have not covered as of yet. I will still go through as many as possible but know that if you download this, print it double page print it is only four pages. If all you do is go in and vote no on all of them at least you have done what you are allowed to do and why we have a republic!  As an election judge I know how few people are turning out to vote. This election does have some amendments that can change Texas, so go out and vote no matter what. On this election there is no trick “no” answer. Sometimes if you want something you have to vote no, but this election has none. So vote with confidence.

HERE is the download link, it is a PDF and 8 pages but you can book print it and do only 4 pages. You can transfer the numbers and yes or no on a small piece of paper and take it with you.

I am going over mine today. I will try to post several amendment posts at a time.

What I like About Texas

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Texas History | Posted on 06-09-2009

I am sure some followers are asking themselves why would I want so badly to change Texas. The answer is simple Texas is bigger than me or any political agenda, it is the Texas I was born in, loved in, married in and I hope to die in.

Texas deserves the very best we can give her, in every way. Eminent Domain will forever change what I love about Texas, and Texas is worth the hassle.

This song sums it up to me.

Just in case you are still not convinced how much Texas has to offer, Dunk found this song for me. I love the Texas version.

Pro Gun Control, Pro-Choice

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Rick Perry, Texas Governor, Texas History | Posted on 29-08-2009

Rudy was everything Texas is and was not. Pro Gun Control and Pro Choice. So while suddenly now the Rick Perry candidate is pro life, where was his steadfast pro-life issue in 2007?

Easy right behind the cameras, the lights of the big city. Right behind the promise that just maybe he could be VP. Yep Perry is a loyalist, a loyalist to his own ego. He is without question a person that changes his stance like the wind. Yet Perry tries to hold Kay to a burning flame.

Rudy while I respect him is coming to Texas. Oh yes he is willing to stomp for Perry. While he is stomping for Perry, I doubt Perry staffer will challenge Rudy on his pro-choice stance.

I am sorry Texas, this type of hypocrisy is not what Texas needs. We need someone who loves Texas, and is willing to do the job without grandstanding like Perry.

Do you Know?

Posted by brazosconservative | Posted in Texas History | Posted on 24-08-2009

A Texas History Quiz! I love Texas, but being raised some years in Colorado and Louisiana I missed out on the Texas history requirement.

Even though I know Texas you can never know enough about the Lone Star State!

Here is a quiz… Click HERE to take it.

The length of the battle had me stumped, I knew about it but wasn’t sure how fast or long it was.
